Local Sections Provide Networking and Programming Opportunities
Sections are the face of SMPTE to many of our members – a great resource for educational programming, technical expertise, and networking . Upon joining SMPTE, new members are placed in a Section based on geographic location.
Currently, SMPTE has 25 local sections worldwide, which host more than 200 meetings, tutorials and workshops each year.
Each Section elects officers who plan local technical programs, allowing each section to tailor the programming to the local audience and available resources.

Interested in Starting a Section in your area?
Any group of at least 50 members from one area may petition the Society's Board of Governors to form a new Section. Simply gather the names of 50 members and submit the petition and we will begin the process of establishing a new section. For further information or to start a petition, contact Sally D'Amato.
