Duties of the Secretary/Treasurer
- Assists the Chair of the Section to carry out the Chair's duties, and
will preside at meetings of the Board of Managers and technical meetings in
the absence of the Chair.
- Pays the bills of the Section as authorized by the Chair within the
framework of the budget previously approved by the Board of Governors of
the Society.
- Arranges for the printing and mailing, or emailing of all Section
notices.
- At the end of the term of office, turns over all Section accounts to
the newly elected Secretary-Treasurer and makes the new officer thoroughly
acquainted with the duties of the office.
- Submits financial reports to the Executive Director.

Bylaw IX, Sec. 8. Section Expenses
Subsec. A.
Prior to the beginning of each fiscal year each Section shall submit to
Headquarters the proposed budget requirements of the Section for the next
fiscal year. Click here for the

Subsec. B.
The Secretary/Treasurer of the Society shall deposit with each Section
Secretary-Treasurer a sum of money for current expenses, the amount to be
fixed by the Board of Governors.
Subsec. C.
The Secretary-Treasurer of each Section shall send to Headquarters,
quarterly, an itemized account of all expenditures incurred during the
preceding period. Download a

Subsec. D.
Expenses other than those enumerated in the budget, as approved by the
Board of Governors of the Society, shall not be payable from the general
funds of the Society without express permission from the Board of
Governors.
Subsec. E.
The Section Board of Managers shall defray all expenses of the Section not
provided for by the Board of Governors from funds raised locally.
Bylaw IX, Sec. 9. Section Meetings
The regular meetings of a Section shall be held in such places and at such
hours as the Board of Managers may designate. The Secretary-Treasurer of
each Section shall forward to Headquarters, not later than five days after
a meeting of a Section, a statement of the attendance and of the business
