BOOT CAMP IV — The Next Dimension: 3D, Mobility and More is SMPTE Toronto’s 17th semi-annual Technical Seminar. This two day event is crammed with practical information on new and emerging technologies. The sessions have been designed for today’s Motion Picture and Television professionals to advance their knowledge on today’s and tomorrows leading edge technologies. SMPTE Toronto's Bootcamps bring today’s thought leaders to help you better understand the “Next Dimension”.

Popular technology guru Mark Schubin of schubincafe.com and Barbara Lange, Executive Director of the SMPTE will be amongst the Keynote Speakers and Presentations this year at SMPTE Toronto's Boot Camp 4 - 3D, Mobility And More...
The event that will explore the "Next Dimension" of film and video technologies. It will occur on June 8th and 9th in Toronto at Ryerson University’s George Vari Engineering and Computing Centre.
The two-day event will feature a bevy of presentations on 3D Television and Cinema, Mobile Television and a bevy of other emerging technologies. The event will also include a Tuesday evening tradeshow. Participants that are SMPTE members are also invited to the Toronto Sections meeting the evening of June 7th for a tour of the brand new CITY/OMNI TV facility in Toronto’s Dundas Square.
The event sponsored by Ericsson, SONY, Evertz, Ryerson University, and Tektronix will also feature a Tuesday evening tradeshow. While we're still adding participants, currently Applied Electronics, ARRI, Canon, Capella Telecommunications, DAV Solutions, Delco Wire and Cable, DSC Labs, Ericsson, Evertz, Fujinon, Harris, Incospec Communications, Panasonic, Quantel, Ross Video, Ryerson University and Tektronix will participate in the tradeshow event.

For SMPTE Members this is a "not for profit" event with registration for SMPTE members set at $150.00. Non SMPTE members will pay $350.00 CDN however SMPTE memberships at an Associate level starts at $35.00 USD.

Organized by SMPTE’s Toronto Section this popular event brings some of the industries top presenters who will speak on topics relevant to the technological advances that will define our industry over the next few years.
This two-day long technical seminar titled BOOT CAMP IV—The Next Dimension: 3D, Mobility and More... represents both a tremendous opportunity to learn and an incredible training bargain. Previous technical seminars, such as the last three BOOT CAMPs, have been highly attended for good reasons. The content was extremely relevant and forward thinking. With the emergence of 3D digital film production, the adoption of Mobile TV standards, the pervasiveness of broadcast IT infrastructures and their associated file based workflows, this years seminar theme will focus on technologies essential to your career. As in the past Toronto’s BOOT CAMP features speakers, many of them the top technical people in their fields, who will focus on what’s in the future and what the engineering community needs to know when it comes to the future communications and motion imaging technology.
Attendees can expect that this years BOOT CAMP to have new twists. BOOT CAMP IV begins the evening of Monday June 7th in conjunction a bonus event joining with the Toronto Section BBQ and tour of the brand new CITY/OMNI TV facility in Toronto’s Dundas Square.
After getting behind the scenes on the Monday evening tour paper presentations start on Tuesday. The Tuesday Evening Tradeshow will allow you to get up close and personal with technology. Keynote speakers will complement the two-day program by providing unique observations into the greater context to which all of the Engineering community works and the role that they play as it relates to next dimension technology.
