SMPTE 365 is an online professional networking community that makes it easier for SMPTE members to find and communicate with each other, to share knowledge, ideas and resources, to showcase projects or research, to collaborate, and to connect with members of like interest and expertise. The SMPTE 365 Community is set up and waiting for you and other SMPTE Members
to make it a thriving online community. A number of tools and resources are already in the community and more will be added regularly.
The resources SMPTE HQ adds is really a small part of what SMPTE 365 is all about. The community is really all about you, the SMPTE Member, and how you use it. The community tools allow you to set up a profile to tell the SMPTE world about yourself, your background, your education, interests, and accomplishments. Best of all, SMPTE 365 is a place where you can build your own community and invite other SMPTE Members with similar professional interests. Your online community can have a resource library for storing files, videos, documents, and technical/engineering resources you wish to share. Your community can also have its own discussion forum for collaborating or exchanging points of view. The more you use SMPTE 365, the more value it will provide you.
To get started, click on the link below. This will lead you to the SMPTE 365 home page. Find the "My Profile" tab and click on it. This will bring you to your profile. If you see your telephone number and email, not to worry, others cannot see this information, not even your contacts.
Please take a few minutes to update your profile so others will learn a little bit about you, add a photo, a bio, and any other information you wish to share.
SMPTE created a community for the Section to which you belong. There is community library and a discussion forum for your Section's community are ready to use. Keep in mind that SMPTE has not formally launched SMPTE 365, so until NAB, there may be only a few people to interact with. Don't worry, though, this will change once the formal announcement is made.
One final note, a condition of use of SMPTE 365 is that you agree to abide by site's "Acceptable Use Policy" (AUP). The first time you logged on, you should be asked to agree to it. If it did not appear, please let us know. To see the AUP any time there is a link at the bottom of each page in SMPTE 365.
