The Entertainment Technology Center (ETC) will host the inaugural meeting of the Task Force at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles on 19 August 2008. This meeting will be open to all (subject to available space), but membership in the SMPTE Standards Community will be required for ongoing participation in the Task Force. All Standards Community members must execute a Statement of Participation; participation is free for SMPTE members, but requires a fee of $125/year for non-members. Demonstrations of technologies in this space will be provided. A phone bridge will be provided; if you are unable to attend in person but wish to monitor this meeting please register for the phone bridge--call-in details will be provided shortly before the meeting. SMPTE gratefully acknowledges the support of ETC in sponsoring this event. Meeting VenueThe Davidson Conference Center (DCC) is on
the corner of Jefferson Boulevard and Figueroa Street. Parking is accessible
from Entrance 4 to the USC campus at the intersection of Jefferson Boulevard
and South Royal Street, directly across from the Shrine Auditorium. Parking
fee is $8.00; be sure to leave parking ticket visible on your car

Driving directions are also available. HotelsThe following list shows hotels in the
vicinity that have USC discount rates. Subject to availability these rates
will be honored for attendees at the meeting; ask for the USC rate and state
that you are attending a conference at USC. Quoted rates are exclusive of
taxes. (Lower rates may be available; you should check for the best rate
available to you.) Note that the week of the meeting is also the week for
student registration at USC, so room availability will be limited. |
