Description

Many industries in the M&E space have transitioned to a digital world.  As such, there has been increasing effort to transform supportive departments to coordinate effort around digital content creation.  Figuring out efficient and effective workflows has become increasingly important.  The following Webcast will discuss what is meant by Software Defined Workflows and how it will have an impactful effect on the Media Industry.  While Asset Management is clearly an important element, emphasis on Workflow Management and where efficiencies can be gained will be reviewed.  Doug Sherman, a Partner Architect from DreamWork Animation, will discuss how Software Defined Workflows could be playing a major part in the upcoming creation of animation-based and live action film productions.  Renard Jenkins, VP Content Transmission for WarnerMedia will cover how Software Defined Workflows are now presenting practical use cases for content transmission, processing, work-stream architecture, metadata extraction and utilization.

"Doug Sherman is a Principal Engineer/Architect overseeing Infrastructure and Microservices Development at DreamWorks Animation. He's enjoyed designing and writing infrastructure and resource management software solutions over the last twenty years having worked at entertainment companies such as Warner Bros Digital, Dream Quest Images and Disney Feature Animation.  Currently, he's pursuing leveraging technologies such as cloud-deployed Microservices along with high scale resources to enable a globally distributed animated film production pipeline, along with potential support for other NBCU Media-related businesses."
