Coinciding with the U.S. Thanksgiving Holiday and the kickoff of the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday inspires people to take collaborative action to give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they support and help create a better world. #GivingTuesday harnesses the power of the media to create a moment around the holidays dedicated to giving.

You can donate Facebook or right here on SMPTE.org. But, if you use Facebook, you'll make the most of this opportunity because they are waiving all fees and along with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, matching funds! Scroll down for all the details!

SMPTE is proud to have supported this the global day of giving for five years running, and this year the Society’s involvement will focus on continued development of the Next Century Fund, which enables SMPTE to focus on its three pillars of standards, membership, and education.
On this global day of giving, Facebook and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation are matching up to $2 million of funds raised on Facebook for U.S. nonprofits. Facebook is also waiving all fees for donations made to nonprofits on Facebook this #GivingTuesday.

You can make the most of this matching opportunity by donating to the Society via SMPTE’s Facebook page.

Funds will be matched up to $50,000 per nonprofit until the $2 million in matching funds runs out. So make your donation early in the day!

You may also create your own fundraiser to raise funds for SMPTE! These funds will be matched up to $1,000 per fundraiser, or until the matching funds run out.

The match begins on Tuesday, 28 November at 8:00 am EST  / 5:00 am PST / 13:00 UTC
