DCS 2011 DCS 2011 is quickly approaching! Instructors Paul Turner, Vice President of Broadcast Market Development at Harmonic, and Alan Popkin, Director of TV Engineering at KLCS-TV/DT, will speak to the steps taken, the challenges faced and the final successful steps taken during the transition from a traditional broadcast facility to one with a file-based workflow at its core. Click here for more information. 2011 SMPTE Washington DC Boot Camp News Technology Conference: Bits on the Bay Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa Bits On The Bay is a two-day annual conference covering the fundamentals and latest advancements in television technology with an emphasis on news coverage and production. San Francisco Section Has Successful kick-off Meeting The newly revitalized San Francisco Section held its first meeting for 2011 on 24 February at HDI in Los Gatos. The subject was Laser & LCoS Technology in Image Displays. Fifty attendees heard CEO Ingemar Jansson, and Chief Scientist Edmund Sandberg talk about their novel display technology using their own proprietary LCoS devices with laser illumination that can be used in both front and rear projection applications.
