    NextGenTV (ATSC 3.0)

Join SMPTE Manager John Footen and Michael Bouchard from Sinclair Broadcast Group as they explore the potential of NextGenTV to transform television as we know it today.  Learn how broadcasters intend to evolve into new types of business and new ways of connecting with their audiences.

    The Student Lounge

Join our SMPTE Student Members to talk about education and remote learning in the time of Covid, share knowledge and help the next generation of media professionals. Everyone's welcome! Moderated by Greg Smalfelt from Fairfax County Government and SMPTE Manager Carlos Rojas from Verizon Media.

    Remote Production: Live News

For the past six months, broadcasters have learned how to do remote and at-home production for scheduled television programs. Last month the political conventions broke new ground - producing major live news events with remote production. At the same time, these conventions marked the first use of the new all-IP ST 2110 standard in politcal conventions.

    Cloud : StT2110 and Timing

Migrating media workflows to the cloud creates new opportunities, yet realizing the full benefits remains elusive until we can implement complete end-to-end workflows including live production. What are the challenges in implementing uncompressed live production workflows in the cloud with ST 2110? Why is timing one of the main challenges?

Grab your tweaker as we continue our discussion about SMPTE 2110 Production in the Cloud.  It’s about time, we look into PTP – Precision Time Protocol – in the cloud.  Studio implementation is well documented but we can no longer delay how the horizontal nature of cloud presents a challenge.  Join us for a the most exciting diSCussion on PTP, to learn what others have done and to share your own experience!

Plus there will be a Town Hall Lobby where anything goes,  and a ivate breakout rooms where you can have one-on-one conversations with your SMPTE colleagues.
