Remembering Analog TV
All are invited to a special joint meeting between SMPTE Hollywood and the Society of Television Engineers
Linwood Dunn theater, 1313 N. Vine St. Hollywood
6:30pm Social hour, 7:30pm meeting start
We will hear from some industry pioneers on their memories of the early days of television in Los Angeles, see some some of Ralph Sargent's antique televisions in action, and think about saying goodbye to analog TV broadcast!
Presenters include: John Silva (KTLA), father of the Telecopter. Jim (NBC) Smith, Don McCroskey (ABC) and Jim Mendrala. Also we can gaze into the future and hear some thoughts from Sieg Heep on where TV distribution might be headed.
And, remembering the world of film, we will see a recent restoration by Warner Bros.
