It's been almost 18 months since the release of "The Digital Dilemma," the groundbreaking report on digital motion picture preservation issues published by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences' Science and Technology Council. Distributed and downloaded around the world and with translation projects completed or underway in three languages, "The Digital Dilemma" continues to
stimulate discussion, research programs and practical projects that may someday lead to sustainable digital preservation practices.
The Science and Technology Council will present an update on "The Digital Dilemma," its impact both inside and outside the motion picture industry, its wide-ranging digital preservation activities in partnership with the Library of Congress, and will lead an interactive discussion of these and other issues related to the increasing use of digital technologies in motion picture production and distribution.
