"Fiber Optic Advances for Broadcast Audio & Video Production”
@ CPTV Hartford CT
Jim Hurwitz, Miranda's Fiber Optic Market Manager, will show us how the increasing demands for more bandwidth, more cameras and more audio sources are driving the
rapid transition to fiber transport for TV and radio broadcast infrastructure, ENG/EFP, live event (concerts) and outside broadcasting. He'll give us a primer course on Fiber
Optics 101 (including what to look out for when planning a fiber optic system), and then show us some of the latest technologies available to solve the problems that
broadcasters might face when adopting or implementing fiber for their productions.
Rose Lockwood, from Belden (Miranda's parent company) will give us a hands-on demo of the latest solutions for fast and easy termination of ST, LC and SC
connectors with minimal tooling.
Jim will conclude with some examples of some recent innovative implementations of fiber optics for broadcast facilities, OB sports, ENG, 3D, 3G and even houses of
worship, and will provide a slight glimpse into the future of fiber optic technologies to come.
Social time starting at 6:30PM.
At 7:00PM our CT program will start with a presentation on the enabling technology for this event.
