Architecting a 24x7 Live Linear Broadcast for 100% Availability
Welcome to our second Section meeting!
You are cordially invited to join us for the PNW Section on March 23, hosted by Amazon in Seattle WA. Time: 6:30pm -8:30pm
The topic of presentation is Architecting a 24x7 Live Linear Broadcast for 100% Availability
Traditional broadcast infrastructures had to be built with on-premises architectures to provide five nines of reliability and to ensure the quality of service expected by premium content owners. However, robust live linear streaming services built on cloud are now feasible and in fact can be 100% available. This talk will discuss how broadcast media workflows with Cloud technologies can provide ingest of diverse video sources, fault tolerance across multiple Availability Zones, time synchronization of video streams, and sustained peak workloads in 24/7 applications.
Presentation given by Joseph Pavey is a Principal Technical Integration Manager on Amazon Video’s Live Playback Team. In his current role, Joseph is responsible for integrating teleports, network providers, content owners, and other third-parties to Amazon Video’s live encoding platform. Prior to joining Amazon Video in 2012, Joseph worked at Microsoft on numerous media-related initiatives, including helping launch one of the earliest VOD platforms, Xbox Video Marketplace, in 2006.
We anticipate your participation in this event, and encourage your continued support of the PNW SMPTE chapter, as we look forward to many more learning opportunities.
