Adaptive Video Streaming over the Internet
Speaker: Ciro A. Noronha, Ph.D.
Live Video Streaming over the Internet is a reality today, thanks primarily to the advances in video compression (which reduced the bandwidth requirements) and improvements in the access and backbone (which made more bandwidth available). The challenge today is to provide the “best” video service to a population of diverse receivers, with different capabilities and varying levels of access bandwidth. This talk is an overview of Adaptive Streaming, which is the technology that has arisen to solve this problem, while still making use of the existing Web infrastructure.
Food and refreshments will be provided, therefore, RSVP’s are required by January 16.
