“UHD-SDI: Enabling the Transport of UHDTV over Existing In-Plant Infrastructure. Industry, Standards, Technology and Compliance Update”
We are pleased to welcome back John Hudson from Semtech Corporation to our February SMPTE meeting.
John will be presenting a two-part meeting centered on uncompressed UHD (4k and 8k), real time transmission over existing in plant infrastructures.
The first segment, starting at 7:00 pm, will focus on: Industry Status Update, Trends and Standards.
The second portion of the meeting, starting at ~7:45 pm, will focus on Compliance Testing as well as what types of test equipment are needed and how to measure such things as return loss, jitter and the electrical eye at 12G-SDI.
A live demonstration of the UHD-SDI technologies and standards discussed will be provided illustrating fully interoperable uncompressed UHDTV transmission over existing in plant infrastructures. This demo also shows how an existing HDTV facility (3G-SDI) can seamlessly transition to UHDTV (12G SDI) using fully standardized, interoperable Commercial and Off The Shelf (COTS) technology that is available today.
