Exploring AV over IP and Software Defined Video over Ethernet (SVDoE)

Most everyone agrees that AV-over-IP is poised to revolutionize the Pro AV market and that the video broadcast industry is also making a similar transition from circuit switched SDI-based infrastructures to Ethernet. However, there is still a desire to distribute 4K content without compromise.

Gareth will discuss these market trends and explore a technical solution that provides a complete platform to take full advantage of COTS-based 10G Ethernet switching using Semtech’s BlueRiver API to add value through unique software control systems.

He will also provide an overview of the Software Defined Video over Ethernet (SDVoE) Alliance solution that is speeding up AV-over-IP industry adoption and will compare and contrast the BlueRiver solution to the SMPTE2110 standard and related systems.

About the Speaker:  Mr. Heywood brings over 25 years of audio and video product development and technology expertise, to both the video systems and semiconductor industries. Gareth was a founder of the HDcctv Alliance, leading the world-wide development of HD video surveillance standards. He was recognized by the HDcctv Alliance in 2011 with an Industry Visionary Award.
