Visual effects and animation have dramatically changed the art of storytelling providing ever improving tools for content creators to engage audiences. More recently high dynamic range technology has provided new capabilities to increase audience immersion in the story. These tools are of particular importance to a company like Pixar which is constantly pushing the boundaries of what they can accomplish in the hands of skilled artists. Join us as we discuss how HDR, VFX, and other technologies are continuing to evolve how content is produced and presented.

Presenter: Thad Beier is the Director of Image Platform Workflow at Dolby Laboratories.  He is helping create high dynamic range and wide color gamut movies with breathtaking quality; both by helping create tools and working closely with creatives to use these tools to get the most out of this new paradigm. Prior to joining Dolby, Thad was a key technical and creative contributor in the field of VFX from 1992 to 2012. Thad holds VFX credits on over 40 films, including many iconic movies of the 90's and 00's.
