The inaugural Bill Lovell lecture will be delivered by Franz Kraus, Managing Director of ARRI.
Paying homage to Bill’s love for digital cameras, Franz will speak about the various image quality parameters that are likely to determine future cinema and TV developments, and how different image priorities can take camera technology in different directions.
He will also talk about some of the announcements ARRI made at IBC 2013-
 the AMIRA - a versatile documentary-style camera

SMPTE UK is establishing an  lecture in honour of the late Bill Lovell, recognising his dedication and his enthusiasm for the industry. Throughout many years of work at the BBC and then at ARRI Media, Bill tirelessly championed new technologies, demystifying the science and providing practical understanding to countless camera professionals.
His passion for sharing knowledge and experience was reflected in his being among the first to join SMPTE UK when it was founded.

 

SMPTE UK section is pleased  that members of Bill's Family will be with us at this meeting-
