Event Details: 

IMG Studios, based near Heathrow in London, is the main technical hub of this global organization
and provides high end technical facilities to support Production, Archive and Distribution.
 We will tour the facilities and then hear from the Engineering Directors how the Studio Centre
was designed and operates – including a case study on how IMG acquires processes and distributes
the Premier League output. - And details of the Studio and live galleries, and the Post and Archive workflows.

IMG Media is the world’s largest independent distributor of sports programming, distributing
over 20,000 hours of content to major global broadcasters annually.



IMG Studios have 4, state of the art; HD broadcast TV studio spaces situated in a modern
and comfortable working environment. These newly built facilities offer great technical and practical
flexibility making them suitable for every production genre in both broadcast and corporate markets.
All studios, production galleries and client service areas are conveniently situated within
close proximity of each other and Reception on the ground floor of the IMG Studios building

The fully digital IMG Studios MCR is designed to be a fully flexible interface, monitoring point
and control between all areas of IMG Studios to the outside world.
The core within IMG Studios is MCR’s central router that has full connectivity to all areas of operations

IMG Studios offers state of the art post production facilities, integrating tapeless workflows
from acquisition through to delivery for transmission and archive.
The centralized machine room houses up to 60 Avid, Adobe Premier and FCP edit systems,
routable via KVM to the following destinations: 22 Craft Edit Suites for high-end finishing
26 Edit Pods for quick turn-around / live editing or for long-form programme-building
24 Edit Desks for desktop logging and rough-cutting and 24 dedicated viewing & logging stations

At the hub of IMG Studios is the Media Services area, offering comprehensive ingest, duplication,
encoding & digital or tape delivery services. MSA is fully integrated with a centralized machine room,
EVS network and MCR, for seamless post productions from start to finish.
IMG also maintains the world’s largest sports archive with more than 250,000 hours of footage.

IMG Studios at Stockley Park are just North from M4 Junction 4 (Heathrow)

 From the M4 Head north on Stockley Road and straight on at the next very near roundabout.
Just under a Mile turn right and the next Roundabout into Bennetsfield Road (a dual carriageway)
and then Right and the first Roundabout into Long Walk
- IMG is obvious on the right as the road turns to the left after the lake! 
(If you have a junction on the left –Roundwood Avenue you have gone too far)

 Coming from the North (uxbridge / Uxbridge road)

Uxbridge head eastwards on the Uxbridge Road Turn Right onto the Harlington Road A437
over two mini roundabouts and turn Right onto the B465 West Drayton Road
at the second set of mini roundabouts.

(From Ealing /Uxbridge road turn left onto the B465 at Hayes End and then straight across the  A437)

The B465 meets the Stockley road turn left and then left at the next road about into Bennetsfield Road
( a dual carriageway) and then Right an the first Roundabout into Long Walk - 
IMG is obvious on the right as the road turns to the left after the lake! 
(If you have a junction on the left –Roundwood Avenue you have gone too far)


By Public transport - - get a GWR / Heathrow Connect train to Hayes and Harlington
(these Start at Paddington and Stop at Ealing Broadway (Central; and District line) -and are on Oyster!
At Hayes and Harlington get a 350 or U3 bus from stop L
these take 16 mins to Longwalk Road Stop J which is just beyoind IMG
- its just a 2 min walk back to IMG on the corner.
(Tfl suggest West Drayton and 350 bus to  Roundwood Avenue - walk down and turn right .
IMG is at the corner) ,

Its is just under 45 mins from Paddington and 35 mins from Ealing Broadway -
trains run about every 15 mins
