18 October – The formal launch of the UK Section of SMPTE with demonstrations of the latest technology and the opportunity to meet and mingle with fellow members and the leaders of the technologies of the moving image.

The evening starts at 6:30pm for 7pm – so come and meet fellow members before the formal inauguration of the Centre at 7pm.
After a few brief speeches, we will be able to enjoy meeting and mingling whilst we look at demonstrations by Dolby and Digital Vision in the reception area and in the brick arched clear/basement- while enjoying further refreshments.
Dolby London ATMOS(tm) theatre
There will also be screening of clips from some of the biggest films of the last few years using Dolby ATMOS™ - realistic cinema sound that truly envelops the audience and allows you to hear the whole picture.
At about 8:40 the meeting will be drawn to a close with details of what the Board of Managers have already achieved – responding to the needs of members and the media industry as a whole – and the notification of the following meetings and our plans for the future..
The event will end at about 9pm.
We hope that like all our meetings, this event will combine learning about the latest technology in Video audio and metadata systems – with the joy of meeting others with a like interest in the variety of industries in which we work. We will have influential people from our industry, from the locality and some new entrants to our world-please welcome them.
