Event Details:

The UK Regional Seminar 2016 takes the topic of moving From an SDI to an IP infrastructure,
the underlying technologies and the routes through hybrid solutions to a flexible format agnostic facility
using open standards, Experts From the UK industry and Thomas Edwards from FOX NEO in Los Angeles
will be discussing the Issues, Standards, architectures and understanding the practical results that are
essential to being able to move a facility from SDI to the more flexible world of IP.

As in the past Regional seminars there is an emphasis on well focussed presentations with ample time
for questions and discussion, and informal discussion in encouraged during breaks
with the SMPTE UK customary ample refreshments.

Whatever your role in the technology of the media industries this  Regional Seminar will enable you to learn
about the key topics of the transition  from SDI to IP and when it may happen for your facilities
– as well as meeting many others  in industries who are like you trying to plan for the future.

You will learn about   the methods for real-time media transport over IP, in place today and coming soon,
and the standards which define them - both SDI over IP, using the SMPTE ST 2022 family of standards
and the long term aim of Separate media over IP, using the VSF Technical Recommendations.
These rely on a good IP network and thus we cover Managing: Data Capacity, Packet Loss and Latency,
and how appropriate Resilience is achieved by architecture and Redundancy.

Then we will also look at the additional requirement of UHD with Higher Dynamic Range,
Wide Colour Gamut and Higher Frames Rates – and Immersive audio.
Finally we will sum up and consolidate some of the things that will put you on the right paths
to do the right things to move from SDI to IP.

As is customary – we will provide the presentations after the Seminar to attendees only.
But this is the headlines of the Seminar  - e.eg VSF TR03

We are pleased to be back at EEF in Westminster – just 100 m from St James Park Tube station
– with easy links to most National Rail stations.
