The role of apps and video on-demand in the future of television
Monday 11 November
We expect the future of television to be a seamless mix of live and on-demand content with interactive and social features to help discovery of content. Today, we are expected to navigate between two models; that of live television and that of on demand television.
In short, we are expected to know whether what we want to watch is on now (or perhaps that we have recorded it) or that it might be available on demand somewhere, probably in an app.
Bill Scott COO of Easel TV discusses the following questions
How can we better combine these two models?
How do we deliver interactive functionality to such a wide range of different devices with such different software platforms?
How can we retain the serendipity of live television when there is endless choice from on demand content?
Bill will talk about these issues and what Easel TV is doing to address them, using examples of client projects and current research initiatives.
