SMPTE UK is holding a Time Code summit
seeking the requirements for a a Time Labeling system that works in the IP age
and not be limited by Frame rate or sample frequency etc
We will be inviting people to this event so that we can get a range of people from across
the Film TV Digital media (or in other industries) who use Timecode day in day out
So please express your interest in this Summit -
we would like to know where you work in the industry / value chain.
- Production = Producer Director. Ingest Logger, DIT, reasearcher Shoot/edit AP etc
- Creative /operational = Editor, POST / VFX . camera / cinematographer Subtitler, Playout, Sound, Theatre Lighting etc
- Workflow / systems = management or sytems integrator defining how Systems work, QC etc
- Other = non media user (e.g. Police, medical or Military) or Equipment manafacturer etc

We look forward to welcoming you to the BT Tower and would like to draw your attention to the following security arrangements.
On arrival at the BT Tower you will need to produce a form of official, photographic identification in addition to your invitation:
- New style driving licence
- Photo credit card
- Official company pass
- Student University Photocard
Business and Travel cards are not acceptable.
On arrival at BT Tower main entrance you will pass through an airport style security check.
Any items found which may be considered to constitute an offensive weapon, for example an article which has a blade or is sharply pointed, will be detained at the security point until you leave the building at the end of the event.
BT Tower lies between 4 tube stations about 8-15 mins walk away
Great Portland Street Circle, Hammersmith & City Metropolitan is the nearest - exit the station - head East along Euston Road one block to BBC Grafton House (which has strange Concrete finish) turn right down Cleveland Street until you come to the Clipstone St. / Maple St. junction – beware of traffic and cyclists from the right - Turn Left along Maple Street to the entrance just before the alley.
Warren Street Victoria and Northern Line exit the station into Tottenham Court Road walk south – take the Third Right into Maple Street walk against the direction of traffic to the Entrance which is just after an alleyway
Goodge Street Northern Line - turn left out of the station and walk North up Tottenham Court Road – Turn Third Left into Maple street and walk against the direction of traffic to the Entrance which is just after an alleyway
Oxford Circus Central Victoria and Bakerloo line Walk up Regent street , into the BBC open space – turn Right under the Peel wing to Langham Street which then becomes Foley Street - go to the end of the street and then turn Left into Cleveland Street at the Clipstone St. /Maple Street junction turn Right to the entrance just before the alley.
Tottenham Court Road Exit the station onto Oxford Street West/ South - walk along Oxford Street westwards turn second Right into Rathbone place (Soho St is its southern extension) at the top of Rathbone Place right and left into Charlotte Street to continue northwards until you meet Maple Street ( traffic and cyclits coming from the left) – turn left to the Entrance which is just after an alleyway
