They tell us we should replace SDI cables with IP links.// They tell us it is 'the future'.
They tell us it will make things simpler.//What aren't we being told?

The session we will summarise the current state of IP in broadcast,
looking at both the new SMPTE-ST 2110 and SMPTE-ST 2022-6 standards.

Please note that the Train  Service after 21:08 train  to London is disrupted
-see time table  and Greater Anglia and National Rail Notices
We intend finish in time so that any one can catch the 21:08

We will also discuss some of the work being done by AMWA (which Suitcase TV us an active member of)
to explain how new protocols like NMOS  IS-04 are adding the bits to make these new standards usable
and easily operable
We will run through our presentation on how the new IP architectures can be used to do remote production
as seen at the IP Showcase stand at NAB
Throughout the talk we will be highlighting areas where we have learned practical experience
is not always as simple as the theory suggests.
We will also share our thoughts on things where we think the new standards are lacking
and where further efforts are needed to help make the promised utopia of an all-IP future a reality.

There will of course be a demonstration set-up of the new Iphrame Flyaway system
and possibly a few other things too.

Enjoy meeting others over ample refreshments provided by Suitcase TV from 18h20 Formal start 19h00.
