NaSTA
is the National Student Television Association supporting student TV stations
across the UK, as well as having international links with the  USA and the Netherlands
and Strong links with SMPTE for Technology  General Education and Networking

 Formed in 1968, NaSTA the oldest student media organisation in the UK,
and amongst its members we count the oldest student TV station in the world,
Glasgow University’s GUST, who turned 50 years old in 2014.  See all Stations

SMPTE is working with NaSTA to communicate with  students  who are studying
any subject at university but have a great love and increasing skills in Television
by connecting with SMPTE members across the UK working in the Broadcast 
Film and Digital industries-

Students get free SMPTE Student membership for their first year -
And then only $10 about £7  afterwards and you get all of this
and a substantial discount on full SMPTE membership when you graduate

SMPTE links with University courses specifically on the Science and Technology
of the Media  though Student Chapters - many of whom are involved in NaSTA

SMPTE UK with the  NaSTA team  would like to grow the student TV community
across the UK, and SMPTE UK gives £500 to the Station that wins  the
NaSTA  Technology Award.

SMPTE members speak at the NaSTA Annual Conference Download Presentations
there are presentations for technical and producstion staff
 

SMPTE UK involvement means that those joining the media industries in
any technical, engineering software or operational job
(or who work with them) are be supported as they find their role 
and those SMPTE members   working in the industry can find out the
techniques aims and aspirations of those who will be taking their place
in tomorrows  ever more expanding and technological media world
