DTV Transition: White Spaces and Other Issues January 2009

The "White Spaces" controversy (in which the FCC plans to allow a range of unlicensed RF devices to operate in unused TV channels) is of great concern to users of wireless mics, intercoms, IFBs and other wireless gear.

The potential for interference is also a concern for DTV television broadcasters. What is really going on, and is the problem as serious as some suggest? What other issues may be of concern to wireless users? What can wireless users expect come Feb. 18?
