Members get exclusive access to the FoC Sessions for 30 days. Future entertainment spaces for compelling cinematic and immersive experiences may look vastly different than the venues of today. They will far exceed the sensory capabilities of today's most advanced theaters. The resulting experiences will push the boundaries for imaging, expand across different platforms, enable extended reality, allow participants to feel the sound, and completely envelop the audience in the story. The technologies required to bring this future to life are not only achievable; they are happening today – providing the building blocks for revolutionizing the storytelling experiences. High impact techniques, taught in this course, have the potential to elevate image quality, accelerate post-production and enable productions to deliver simultaneously to SDR and HDR display devices. Participants will learn how to get the most out of modern digital cameras and be able to take full control over the image. Learn how to deploy various color management techniques to a whole spectrum of productions, from live transmissions to high-end feature film shows. As a bonus module, we focus on cinematographers and how they can best manage color-managed workflows and set the right level of expectation from their DITs, Dailies Colorist, Supervising Colorist, and Color Scientist.
Video Compression is a vital part of media infrastructure that is constantly evolving to include the latest technology and techniques. Upon completion of the course attendees will be able to identify the key compression standards and proprietary solutions, areas of application and typical media workflows. Each major compression standard will be examined to provide a comprehensive understanding of the technology underpinnings, development evolution and area of application. Compression will be considered from a cloud hosting perspective to allow attendees to evaluate the hosting needs of compression-based workflows.
