The August issue of the Journal includes a range of topics. In this issue, papers address how a combination of 5G connectivity and GPU cloud capability at the network edge can affect the delivery and consumption of immersive experiences, as well as the advances and challenges associated with using the cloud in linear media operations. Also, the performance of low-latency and HLS streaming in mobile networks is examined; a color appearance model is used to compute HLG and SDR down-mapping; information technology advances are discussed, and an innovative selective storage algorithm is presented.
