INSIGHTS
In order to improve the user experience the cinema industry needs to add a new dimension to the traditional audio-visual projection. The 3D has been tried with various degrees of success, but more promising is the coming 4D, namely the physical or sensory feedback by means of dedicated rendering platforms. The goal of this webcast is to address the different aspects of such a haptic cinematography workflow, inc. the production/creation by the haptographer, the rendering and associated quality of experience, and the definition of suitable formats for the representation and distribution of those additional data. More precisely existing solutions are discussed regarding the challenges they are facing and how to efficiently integrate the final user in the loop for a successful immersive experience.
