INSIGHTS
Handling video and audio content as digital files brings tremendous advantages to the broadcast and media industry. Converting operations from familiar broadcast technologies to IT technologies promises to provide flexibility and savings, but the wrong choices could put your content at risk.
The presentation will cover the basic steps needed to maintain the quality, safety and integrity in a digital production and archive workflow. It will include advice on handling coded content, on storage media, on using the cloud and explain the differences between a digital library and an archive. Ways of working with digital content in an IP infrastructure are still developing in this relatively new area for our industry and so pointers to sources of further help in SMPTE and elsewhere will be provided.
