The Future of Media and Entertainment and Its Impact on Computer Storage (and Vice Versa)

The Future of Media and Entertainment and Its Impact on Computer Storage (and Vice Versa)

Description

Hollywood has been innovating since its inception more than 100 years ago, and storage has been along for the ride.

With the onset of the digitization of film, as well as the move from HD to 8K and eventually 16K movies, file sizes are soaring! A title that once generated 112GB an hour may soon reach 86TB. Therefore, storage has become a critical factor in how movies are archived, streams are stored, and how much broadcasts and movies are budgeted. From the set, through the camera, to the big or little screen, storage has earned its place in the closing credits.

Join Jeff Greenwald, Hal Woods, and Erik Weaver as they discuss the innovations that have influenced the media and entertainment world, and how storage has evolved to meet these new demands.
