WHITEPLAINS, N.Y. — Feb 18, 2026 — SMPTE®, the home of media professionals, technologists, and engineers, today announced its call for technical papers for the SMPTE 2026 Media Technology Summit. The Summit will be held Nov. 16-19 at the Pasadena Convention Center, 300 E Green St, Pasadena, CA.
The Summit will aim to present the latest innovative processes, tools, workflows, interoperability solutions, standards, and various other exciting initiatives driving the industry forward, ensuring unwavering quality in the seamless creation, management, and delivery of media content. Original, unpublished manuscripts aligning with these goals will undergo multi-peer review when submitted as abstracts. Abstracts should fall within the range of 300 to 400 words as well as an 800-1000 word paper outline and will be accepted until May 31.
Furthermore, SMPTE has included a journal track, where interested parties can submit full, publication-ready manuscripts that will automatically be considered for publication in the SMPTE Motion Imaging Journal, subject to a separate post-event peer-review process. Manuscripts must be 3,000 to 5,000 words and will be accepted until May 31.

The conference program committee will notify authors of decisions by June 30. Authors of selected papers will be granted the opportunity to present at the world's premier peer-reviewed forum dedicated to the exploration of media and entertainment technology.

Previously published, product-specific, commercial, sales, or promotional papers will not be considered for this conference. SMPTE strongly encourages the submission of student papers.
