Written by Russell Poole | Jun 23, 2026 1:00:16 PM

Welcome to the SMPTE Sum-Up, the weekly publication that details the recent and current events of your favorite standards development organization. Recently at SMPTE:

SMPTE Oceania and some invited guests were given an exclusive tour of the Andrews Hub within the NEP Eveleigh premises! They even got to explore the station’s newest IP broadcast trucks, NEP IP26 and NEP HG31. Afterward, Marc Segar, Chief Technology Officer, NEP Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Justin Rowley, Operations Manager, HUB, NEP Australia held a lively Q&A.

SMPTE Rocky Mountain attended the 2025 Rocky Mountain Audio Visual Expo! They even held a special session: New to Broadcast? Entry Level TV Positions in a Master Control Room. The panel included On-Air Operations Managers from NBCUniversal including Kyristyn Dixon, Joseph Regner, Jake Knox, and Lisa Westenbarger.

The Content Provenance and Authenticity (CPA) Study Group has a brand-new public survey! The survey’s goal is to identify gaps in current standards, explore interoperability with emerging technologies such as C2PA, and inform future SMPTE work that supports secure, verifiable, and trustworthy media production. It will also ask for user stories during the survey. Standards also wants the Society to check out our new and improved recently published document page.

The SMPTE Job Board has been updated!
