Welcome to the SMPTE Sum-Up, the weekly publication that details the recent and current events of your favorite standards development organization. Recently at SMPTE:
SMPTE manned a table at the Radio Club of America Annual Banquet & Technical Symposium! SMPTE Past-President, Renard T. Jenkins, and a member of the SMPTE home office spent the day talking up SMPTE, learning about RCA, and listening to some in-depth technical presentations. The entire day solidified the relationship between SMPTE and RCA, and we look forward to working with them more.
SMPTE New England was invited to a special Virtual Production open house at Door G Studios 20! The event specifically invited SMPTE Students as well as standard members and included an opening reception and special presentations of the studios’ latest VP technology. The evening culminated in a Q&A on the tech and the studio.
The Content Provenance and Authenticity (CPA) Study Group has a brand-new public survey! The survey’s goal is to identify gaps in current standards, explore interoperability with emerging technologies such as C2PA, and inform future SMPTE work that supports secure, verifiable, and trustworthy media production. It will also ask for user stories during the survey. Standards also wants the Society to check out our new and improved recently published document page.
