This week, it was announced that Sally-Ann D’Amato has been chosen as SMPTE’s new Executive Director! Sally joined SMPTE in 2001 as an intern and worked her way up the ladder. She has coordinated many events and incorporates her creativity by writing songs for and performing in many of the events she works on. We’re thrilled to have her at the helm. She lives up to her nickname, “SMPTE Sally!”
With 2024 now behind us, Renard T. Jenkins has ended his tenure as SMPTE President, and began his work as SMPTE Past President. His work over these last two years has been pivotal to the society and has written a reflection of his efforts in a farewell presidential address. Read it here.

SMPTE Washington DC held their first event of the year. More specifically, the DC Student Chapter held the annual Media Forward Career Event at Montgomery College. Students from High School to College age gathered to network and being their journey in the world of media engineering. It was an inspiring way to begin the year.
