Andre Normil | Southern Region Governor

Andre Normil is an accomplished media technology leader with more than 20 years of experience in broadcast engineering, post-production, production technology, and media systems architecture. He currently serves as Director of Media Systems Engineering at FanDuel Sports Network, where he leads enterprise strategy and architecture for media asset management, ingest and playout systems, archive modernization, cloud and object storage workflows, metadata governance, remote post-production, and emerging technology initiatives.

Prior to FanDuel Sports Network, Andre held senior engineering leadership roles at Warner Bros. Discovery and Turner Broadcasting, where he designed, implemented, and supported scalable technology solutions for live sports, entertainment, creative operations, animation, quality control, and content customization workflows. His work has contributed to major network transitions, disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives, virtual desktop infrastructure deployments, media asset management and production asset management integrations, and large-scale infrastructure modernization efforts across geographically distributed teams.

Throughout his career, Andre has helped deliver more than 100 renovation and replacement projects and new technology initiatives, with combined capital investments totaling millions of dollars. He has deep expertise in broadcast system design, media asset management, cloud-based media systems, workflow optimization, IP-based production technologies, AI-enabled media workflows, storage and archive strategy, vendor management, and cross-functional technology leadership. A dedicated SMPTE volunteer and industry advocate, Andre served as SMPTE Atlanta Section Manager from 2018 through 2025 and now serves as SMPTE Southeast Region Governor beginning in 2026. He is a SMPTE Certified ST 2110 IP Networking Professional and is passionate about advancing professional development, student engagement, industry collaboration, and inclusive innovation across the media and entertainment technology community.

Andre also holds professional certifications from AWS, Scrum Alliance, ITIL, MIT xPro in AI product design, and SBE Leadership Development. He is committed to helping shape the future of media technology while empowering the next generation of engineers, technologists, and creative professionals.
