    All SMPTE courses, whether instructor-led or self-study, are offered virtually to allow access to students worldwide. We're constantly expanding our course offerings with new classes, the latest one including SMPTE DCP and ATSC 3.0 virtual courses. 
     
    Our self-study courses start in January and end in November each year, allowing you to have more flexibility with additional time to complete the coursework at your convenience.
    SMPTE virtual course instructors will divulge their interests in any products, instruments, devices, or materials that may be included in the training. Marketing materials for any virtual course will include this disclosure on the virtual course web page. Learning materials will include this disclosure attached to the course description in the Learning Management System.

    Each virtual course will present assignments and quizzes which are graded by the instructor. Students must receive 70% or higher overall grade to qualify for the certificate of achievement and IACET continuing education units, which will be communicated to them from the automatic email system generated by the certificate issuer (Accredible Certificates and Badges). Learners who do not achieve a minimum of 70% will not be issued a certificate and will receive an email that communicates this information.

    All SMPTE LMS users are required to have a working laptop with internet access to open a browser, and a headset for participation in live or on-demand instructor-led sessions.

    For technical support LMS users can contract the support team by using either the Discussion Forum in the LMS, or the SMPTE education staff email and telephone directory.

    All learner information will be kept private and secure on SMPTE platforms, based on SMTPE policy regarding GDPR requirements. Learner information will not be released to third parties without specific approval

    Terms and Conditions: 

    Any of SMPTE's Virtual Classroom courses are available as private sessions for organizations. Contact us for details about private course options and with any curriculum questions.

    If you register, but cannot attend and would like your registration fee applied to a future course, please contact us. A $75 transfer fee will apply.

    If you cannot meet your course deadline, you can request an extension. A $100 extension fee will apply. Please contact us to ask for an extension.

    Refunds will be issued for cancellations made at least three weeks prior to the course start date, less a 10% ($100 for CCNA courses) cancellation fee. No refunds will be issued after that time.
