Course Overview
As Media and Entertainment begins to broadly embrace UHD, Engineers andTechnicians need to understand next-generation video formats, so they’re better prepared to lead change and growth in their organizations. This course will give you both the technical background and the practical skills to handle the UHD format across the entire content creation and distribution workflow. You’ll gain a broad working knowledge of UHD acquisition, format conversion, compression and distribution, display and interfacing. And you’ll improve your ability to discuss the technical aspects of UHD with your team, and communicate effectively about related technologies and workflows.
Prerequisites:
Participants should have some experience working with UHD technologies and workflows.
Learning Outcomes

Describe the different elements of UHD acquisition, including UHD cameras, sensors, lenses, sampling formats, bit rates, and storage requirements

Perform UHD signal conversions, formatting, and content distribution using the appropriate UHDformats and color conversion techniques, bit rates, codecs, and UHD content distribution methods

Differentiate technologies for UHDTV displays and display enhancements, as wellas choose the appropriate direct view or projection display for UHD viewing

List the benchmarks and connection formats of UHD signal management and calculate the required bit rates for signal transport and display interfacing

Apply appropriate standards to acquisition, formats, transport, and interfacing UHD video

Discuss insights into the future of UHDTV, from camera to display screen
