Jason Pepino

Jason "Pep" Pepino is the Director of Broadcast Solutions at Chesapeake Systems (CHESA), where he leads the design and integration of modern broadcast and production facilities for commercial and government clients. With more than 20 years of experience in broadcast engineering, Jason brings deep technical expertise across traditional SDI environments and IP-based architectures, including SMPTE ST 2110 and ST 2022-6, with a practical focus on real-world operations and system sustainability.

Before his current role, Jason served as a Broadcast Design Engineer at Diversified, delivering projects ranging from small studios to multi-million-dollar facilities for organizations such as Fox News, PBS, Charter Communications, and U.S. government agencies. Earlier in his career, he was the Broadcast Engineering Team Lead for Al Jazeera Media Network in Washington, D.C., where he oversaw the broadcast engineering staff, modernized broadcast operations, and managed critical vendor and infrastructure relationships across multiple remote locations.

Jason began his career in the United States Navy, serving 17 years, finishing as a Chief Petty Officer, specializing in communications and broadcast systems. During his service, he led large technical teams, maintained mission-critical communications infrastructure, and developed formal broadcast and IT training programs.
He holds a Master of Science in Marketing Management, a Bachelor of Science in Global Business Management, and an Associate degree in Electronics Engineering Technology. Jason is a Certified Broadcast Technologist and remains actively engaged in advancing the broadcast industry through standards-based design, education, and professional mentorship.
