Product Management Lead for Professional Media - Telstra Australia 

My career began as a cadet engineer at the local television station in Sydney Australia, and over the proceeding 30+ years has encompassed network television, subscription television, major televised sporting events, OTT streaming, digital media, and global media delivery platforms. Taking me to North America, Japan, New Zealand, and SE Asia. Today I lead Product Management for Professional Media at Australia's largest telco, Telstra. I joined SMPTE upon graduation to expand my industry knowledge, grow my professional network, and give back to the industry in general. In 2007, I became Secretary/Treasurer of the Australia, New Zealand, and Southern Pacific Islands Section, and have been very active in all aspects of the Section ever since, including our bi-annual SMPTE Sydney Conference and Expo (now METexpo). In 2012, I received SMPTE's Citation for Outstanding Service to the Society for services to the local Section. SMPTE has a long and established history, and it is my hope that our organization continues to evolve, nurture the next generation of media professionals, develop new Standards for future media operations, and grow our Standards Knowledge Network so that members may keep pace with our dynamic industry.
