This event showcases industry professionals as they discuss how they got into the industry, their experiences, and is an opportunity to ask and learn more about the film and tech industry. Description

Panelists include:

Kurt Kuenne, Writer, director, and composer of of both fiction and documentary films, and a winner of the Academy Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting;  he is best known for the documentaries “Dear Zachary”, “Batkid Begins”, the award-winning short “Validation”, and for directing numerous of episodes of NBC’s hit show “The Blacklist” starring James Spader.  He is currently making a documentary film about rock star Huey Lewis and the hearing disorder that’s upended his life and career.

 

Nicholas SyNicholas Sy is currently a Second Assistant Editor on an upcoming animated feature from Kuku Studios and Netflix. A Bay Area native, he was previously a Post Production Assistant on "Better Call Saul" and an Editorial Intern at Pixar Animation Studios for the upcoming film "Soul." Nicholas graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, with a degree in Film and Television Production.

 

Sara Lennon, Video Producer, zSpace (and Film/TV Department alumna). She currently works full time as the sole Video Producer at a startup virtual reality edtech company zSpace to support the marketing and product teams with filming, writing, editing, archiving, and publishing brand-consistent video content (customer testimonials, internal training, social media, etc.). She also does freelance videography, video editing, and work as a production assistant for various features, corporate videos, events, weddings, and music videos.

Erika Svennson, Freelance filmmaker from the Bay Area. Has worked professionally in the film industry for 5 years now. Key Set Production Assistant and Assistant Production Coordinator for Feature Films (Last Black Man in San FranciscoAnt-Man and the Wasp, Sonic the Hedgehog, Goodyear) and Television (The Voice, Man in the High Castle, Wheel of Fortune, Alive; and Film/TV Department alumna).
