A presentation to illustrate the importance of captioning all of your media, from regulatory compliance needs to an improved consumer experience and greater monetization of your assets. Pittsburgh Section Manager Bill Bennett from ENCO Systems will present information on topics such as what Automatic Speech Recognition {ASR} is, benefits and drawbacks of various captioning methods, unexpected advantages from captioning, and the state of today's accessible legal environment.

A message from the SMPTE Pittsburgh Section Chair:

After a two month summer vacation, I want to welcome everyone back to the SMPTE Pittsburgh Section meetings.  Unfortunately, COVID has not gone away and we will have to continue with virtual Zoom meetings for the near future.

We are starting to plan meeting presentation topics for the fall, winter and spring meetings. I feel a broader representation by new, student, early career and other interested parties would be valuable.  Let me know if you can help. I can add you to our Board of Managers Zoom calls where we discuss ideas or you can just send me an email with suggestions for meeting topics.
