AUG 15 SMPTE Atlanta Section August Meeting - Covering Sports in the Age of Covid

Description

Broadcasters have been forced to adapt how they do things. Find out how TNT covered the NBA and reduced the number of people on site.

About this event

We are going to take a look at the workflow that Turner Sports utilized in bringing the NBA on TNT back to life when the season restarted in December of 2020. The overall goal was to limit the number of people we would ordinarily bring on site to an NBA game- between 50 and 60 staff and freelancers- while executing our NBA coverage at the highest levels possible. This including our live game announcers calling games from their home basements and spare rooms with our production graphics and replay teams working from Warner Media’s HQ in Atlanta in repurposed conference rooms.
