Tuesday June 11th, 2019

TIME:
6:00pm: Fellowship & Light Dinner (food & beverages sponsored by: Wheatstone, Diversified, and RadioDNA)
7:00pm: Business Meeting & Presentation

LOCATION:
WTOP
5425 Wisconsin Ave., NW, 5th Floor
Chevy Chase, MD 20815

PROGRAM:
How does major market radio stay relevant and stay in the lead in an era of digital and social media, and video file sharing?

Major market, indeed: WTOP was the highest billing radio station in the USA last year, and is now operating in its new “visual media friendly” facility in Chevy Chase, MD, just up the street from its former Idaho Avenue studios in the District. The new WTOP “glass enclosed nerve center” was designed from the outset for IP audio and video distribution, and integration of digital and streaming media with the newsroom work flow. This atypical but perhaps new model design for a large-market radio station facility even includes a purpose-built video lab and a visual-friendly event space, specifically to produce social media, streaming, and visual augmentation of its news product, 365 days a year to so many Washingtonians.

The event is sponsored by Wheatstone, Diversified, and RadioDNA. The facility design and planning, network layout, and physical architecture will all be covered in presentation episodes, followed by a facility tour.

Follow the design and build out of a modern major market broadcast facility through its construction, wiring, integration, switch-on, and move-in stages.

PARKING (very reasonably priced):
In huge garage beneath the building or surface parking behind the building.

METRO:
Directly next to METRO's Red Line, Friendships Heights station (use Military Road exit).

BUILDNG ENTRY:
Enter the building loggy and we will have someone there to escort guests up to the floor.
We need to limit attendance to about 63 due to room size.
