This month’s meeting location is returning to ProFusion 2023 Expo. It has been a few years since we held a Section meeting during the ProFusion event.

The topic for the evening is 'Mirrorless Cameras'. Anywhere you look you will see Mirrorless cameras are being used for productions of all types. Each year they continue to make technical advances. This evening's presenters will talk about some of these new advances.

In this presentation, Blackmagic Design will discuss the latest standards in the industry, how traditional filmmaking workflows are evolving and the products that will help to support filmmakers with their needs of today and a path to the future.

Title: Pushing the limits of full-frame mirrorless technology with the Nikon Z 8 and Z 9
Description: As mirrorless technology keeps improving, the expectations from cinematographers continues to grow. For small crews, a small and compact camera no longer means a lack of capability, with Nikon proving this with some of its latest releases, the Z 8 and Z 9. 
Flexibility is the key to the success of these full-frame bodies, being able to switch seamlessly from 8-bit 4K/24p all the way to 12-bit Raw video at 8K/60p.  Add to that the ability to use over 40 native Nikkor Z lenses, or hundreds of non-Nikon lenses thanks to the industries largest full-frame mount that is highly adaptable.
Nikon Canada’s Chris Ogonek will discuss how the Z 8 and Z 9 are integrating class leading technology along with cine specific features such as waveform monitoring, proxy files and more.
