San Francisco State University welcomes media students and the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) to a special event being hosted by SMPTE, BECA—the Department of Broadcast & Electronic Communication Arts—and the CSU Entertainment Alliance, the hub for students interested in entertainment technology careers.

AJ Bleyer joins us to share his most valuable takeaways as a film director, executive producer, and entrepreneur. At age 32 with no formal training in either business or filmmaking, AJ has built a multi-million dollar production company from his apartment bedroom. His company, Advent Films, specializes in big productions with helicopters, pyrotechnics, and high-speed vehicle stunts… but the journey has been filled with countless lessons along the way. This year marks Advent’s 10th anniversary. 

AJ Bleyer is a DGA Director and the founder of Advent Films- a commercial production company. A trusted shooter for brands like Ferrari, McLaren, Red Bull, Riot Games, Amazon and many more, he was accepted into the DGA at 27 as one of the Guild’s youngest directors. When he’s not working on movies or driving cars, AJ is either working on movies or driving cars.
