About the Program

The Boot Camp consists of three in-depth courses, led by expert technologists with extensive experience designing and implementing ST 2110-based facilities. Through hands-on learning sessions, participants workshop their own real-world challenges alongside seasoned instructors and peers — comparing phased, hybrid, and green-field deployment models, and evaluating the approach best suited to their organization. The result is actionable solutions, best practices, and an industry-recognized credential.

The Three Courses

  1. Introduction to IP Networks (ITIPN): 9 modules — IP networking foundations, including Wireshark.
  2. Understanding ST 2110: 6 modules — the standards suite and NMOS, in depth.
  3. IP Network Design : 5 modules — designing high-performance media networks

Format

Designed for working professionals — a flexible mix of self-paced study and live, instructor-led coaching.

Self-Paced Modules

Each week, participants complete one or two modules independently. Every module includes a narrated instructional video, a hands-on assignment, and a quiz — all to be completed before the corresponding live coaching session. This lets participants become familiar with the concepts ahead of time, formulate informed questions, and improve long-term retention. Quizzes can be retaken to reinforce understanding.

Live Coaching Sessions

Live coaching sessions run on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:00 p.m. EDT — 26 sessions over 13 weeks. Sessions are optional but strongly recommended; they're where the program comes alive. Participants workshop their own real-world challenges alongside seasoned instructors and peers. Every live session is recorded and made available on demand within 24 hours, so participants across time zones — or those whovcan't make a particular session live — never miss a discussion. Toward the end of the program, a live wrap-up session brings industry professionals together with participants to discuss and resolve any remaining ST 2110 questions before the final exam.

Time Commitment

  • Program length 13 weeks

  • Total contact hours 32 hours of instructional content

  • Self-paced study 2–3 hours per week (varies by module)

  • Live coaching Two sessions per week, Tuesdays & Thursdays at noon EDT

  • Final exam Two hours per attempt, two attempts allowed

Successful Completion

To successfully complete the program, participants must achieve 70% or higher overall across module assignments and quizzes, and 70% or higher on the final exam. Both requirements must be met to receive the SMPTE Certificate of Achievement.

Week - by Week Schedule

Live coaching sessions run Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:00 p.m. EDT. Each session is recorded and available on demand within 24 hours. Participants complete self-paced modules ahead of each session.
