Topic: Blurring the lines between Games, Film and Television

Over the past several years, we have seen the convergence of media technology between games, film, and television.  At the core of this convergence, is high-end, real-time rendering technology.  Today’s AAA level video games employ a level of realism that is attractive to not only games, but now, film and television markets as well.  With an ever increasing demand for content and the level of quality modern real-time CGI can offer, the market barriers between  the media types begins to blur. For this meeting, Andy will share his expertise of this topic.

About the speaker: Andy Blondin is a seasoned veteran of the broadcast industry, specializing in real-time computer graphics and augmented reality.  During his tenure at FOX Sports in Los Angeles, he lead a team of real-time graphic designers that helped FOX to earn six Emmy nominations and one Emmy Award for Outstanding Studio Design/Art Direction FIFA Women's World Cup 2015.  Andy has a strong background in augmented reality and in blending traditional media with live computer graphics. Andy has now joined Epic Games to build the tools necessary for pioneering the next generation of television and gaming.  Andy is passionate about combining both gaming and live production to bring new and exciting technology to the broadcast space.

Light refreshments will be provided.
