I bring over 20 years of experience in the media technology industry. Starting my career at Dolby Labs in 1999 as a sound engineer, I transitioned to specialize in Digital Cinema, playing a pivotal role in the industry's shift from 35mm to digital formats across products, technology, and services. My tenure at Dolby also saw me actively involved in advancements like 3D, HDR, and object-based audio, earning recognition with an Honorary Doctor of Technology degree from Southampton Solent University. I later taught on their Media Technology degree program.
In 2013, I founded Sundog Media Toolkit Ltd and served as CEO. My involvement with SMPTE began with standards for cinema frame rates, expanding into digital cinema standards (21DC) and leadership roles such as Regional Governor. Notably, I revitalized the SMPTE UK Section and chaired significant conferences like the Future of Cinema Conference at NAB and the Big Screen Conference at IBC. Read more
