With over 35 years in the television broadcast industry, Evdoxia (Dox) has built a career spanning domestic and international markets. She currently leads Broadcast Operations for Tabcorp’s, SKY Racing, overseeing teams across MCR, Presentation, Production Media, OTT, Studio Operations, and Outside Broadcast.

Dox began her career at Channel 8 in Darwin as a Tape Operator before expanding her experience with major broadcasters including the BBC, Network 10, and Foxtel Group. In 2022, she was elected to the SMPTE Oceania board and now serves as Chair. Passionate about mentoring future talent, she supports RISE Women in Broadcast as a Mentor, contributes to TAFE industry days, and champions student involvement at MetExpo.

Outside of work, Dox is a dedicated mother of two teenage boys, enjoys early morning Pilates, and balances life with a well‑earned G&T on a weekend afternoon.

I’ve spent more than 25 years working at the intersection of media, broadcasting, production and technology, shaping how content is created, delivered, and experienced. My recent career has centred on leading transformation across production environments, studio operations, and broadcast workflows - always with a focus on enabling creative teams and strengthening audience impact.

After 19 years at Sky NZ driving major broadcast and operational change, I’ve spent the past year as Director of Media Technology at Devoli. My work has focused on growing our media capability, developing studio offerings, and building partnerships that help production teams work with greater agility and confidence.

Across every role, I’ve remained deeply connected to the craft of broadcasting - refining end‑to‑end workflows, supporting production infrastructure, and bridging technology with storytelling. I’m committed to solutions that elevate content creation, improve operational performance, and support the evolving needs of our industry.

I am a passionate creative leader who has made award winning impacts in the fields of production, technology and creative innovation during his 40-year career in Australia and the UK.

I am very proud of the focus on inclusion in the make-up of the OCEANIA board. When I started as chair it was 100% male, and 5 years later it is now 50% male and female with a greater diversity of age, industry experience and geography.

As a voluntary organisation SMPTE has strived to deliver on its goal of Connecting and empowering all in broadcast, streaming and media tech. This includes the creation of industry standards, education and building community.

I have been working with Telstra Broadcast Services since its inception/acquisition by Telstra. In the last 6 years, my team and I have continued to deliver customer, product and platform projects. While doing so we have developed our PMO structure, governance and now play an important role in digital transformation on how we deliver.

There are three key reasons I wish to continue on the board

• More women engagement and bring that perspective to the board
• Education, bring awareness of this industry to your students. I believe involvement of TAFE and education session with RISING STAR panels has brought that young generation awareness
• I am also a believer of equality and would like to explore mentoring for SMPTE and limit the mentees to be women only. There is a gap in our industry to mentor younger generation, to help them navigate through the industry and would like to see that avenue now to be looked at with some amazing board members at the table this year

Padraig O’Donovan is CEO and Co-Founder of Layercake, a specialist consultancy focused on digital, data and technology strategy for broadcasters and streaming platforms. He advises media organisations globally on platform transformation, measurement frameworks, data governance, cloud architecture, security strategy and vendor ecosystem design.

Padraig has over 20 years’ experience across media technology, content distribution, analytics and commercial strategy. His work bridges technical architecture with commercial and business outcomes, helping organisations modernise workflows, unlock audience insight and improve platform resilience and monetisation.

He is an active industry contributor focused on advancing innovation, interoperability and practical standards adoption within the evolving broadcast and streaming ecosystem.

Reza Rahimi is Sales Director for Australia, New Zealand at Appear, with nearly three decades of experience in broadcast and media technology. Based in Sydney, he leads regional sales strategy and works closely with broadcasters and service providers transitioning to resilient, low-latency IP and cloud-enabled workflows.

Prior to Appear, Reza served as Regional Sales Director at Net Insight, supporting live production, contribution and distribution solutions across Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Earlier in his career, he worked with Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) as Broadcast Telecom Specialist, contributing to the delivery of large-scale international sporting events, including the Olympic Games, gaining hands-on experience in high-performance live broadcast operations.

Reza combines strong technical understanding with commercial leadership and is passionate about standards, collaboration and the continued evolution of media technology in Oceania.

With a lifetime in broadcast production and media technology, I have extensive experience across news, sport, and current affairs, as a subject expert consultant, project manager, operations manager, workflow designer, editor, producer, and director.

My international background spans the UK, Asia, and Australia, and I am a

PRINCE2 Production Manager Practitioner, demonstrating global reach and professional expertise for complex broadcast projects, most recently:

• Network Ten, Australia (nationwide News technology refresh)
• ITV/ITN, UK (News refresh)
• Nine Network, Australia (HQ relocation)
• Al Jazeera, Qatar (replacement MAM)

I am also on the board for Rise (women in broadcast) ANZ. I believe there are useful parallels with SMPTE Oceania, on a practical front, compliance and administratively. There are also symbiosis opportunities.

Smita Gautam is a highly experienced Broadcast Technology Professional with over 15 years in the field, currently serving as the Broadcast Tech Support Manager at Nine in Sydney. Specializing in broadcast IT, technical support, and media production workflows, she leads a team and ensures the seamless operation and efficiency of Nine's broadcast technology systems.

Since starting at Nine in 2011, Smita has advanced through roles including Broadcast IT Technician, Broadcast IT Engineer, SME for Newsroom Systems, and Broadcast Support Team Lead/System Engineer. Her expertise spans system deployments, technical troubleshooting, IT infrastructure management, and newsroom technology. She possesses a strong foundation in video technologies—from acquisition and processing to transmission and distribution—and is proficient in modern file-based media workflows.

Holding a Bachelor's in Electronics and Communications Engineering and a Graduate Diploma in I.T., Smita is dedicated to delivering reliable and disruption-free broadcast services. In her free time, she enjoys reading with a glass of red wine.

Andrew Martin is Head of Media Services at Television New Zealand. In his role, he manages operational teams and technical logistics for sports and special events for Television New Zealand.

Andrew values SMPTE and says it “represents opportunity and collaboration, as well as education and growth.” SMPTE is an important organisation to Andrew because it “brings our industry together”.

Andrew believes that being reliable, trustworthy and being involved will set you up for success when building your career. Above all he says “love what you’re doing. If you have a passion and an interest the opportunities will come.”

Outside of work Andrew loves to ride his 50cc scooter. He says, "I plan on being 70 years old cruising in the city on my Yamaha!"

Caroline began her career in London with the BBC, Channel 4 and ITV Sport. After moving to Australia, she joined SBS as Deputy Head of Sport before a decade with the Olympic Host Broadcaster, serving as Head of Broadcast Services for Sydney 2000, Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008.

At NEP, Caroline has led major event projects, including Project Director for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Host Broadcast. She has since overseen NEP’s delivery of broadcast technology for HBS at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 and was heavily involved with the for FIFA World Cup 2026. And Olympic games

Caroline founded SVGW Australia to promote career pathways and leadership opportunities for women in sports broadcasting. She also contributes to industry panels, supporting and inspiring future talent.

Jamie Drew is an Application Solutions Architect at the ABC.

Jamie is passionate about leveraging technology to expand and streamline content production and distribution capabilities across the ABC.

His commitment to innovation is exemplified by his involvement with the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE), noting “SMPTE is the premier organisation for Media Engineers and Professionals, and I wanted to be involved in the society, be a part of the community, and help support and provide input from my perspective, experience and skills base.”

When it comes to building a successful career, Jamie emphasises the importance of finding one's passion and pursuing it wholeheartedly, be that equally with personal interests and in professional endeavours.
